First of all, Happy Navaratri to everyone. Today is such an auspicious day as we begin to celebrate the first day of Navaratri. As I wrote in my earlier article that one of the reasons to celebrate Navaratri is Sri Ram's worship of Goddess Durga in the autumn season is to win the war with Ravana.
Another important thing that happened today is that Sun God has transited into Libra, in its debilitation sign. While all the Sankrantis are extremely pious for us, but this one is special as Sun will go through Libra. Libra, as we are aware, is a sign of balance. Sun arrives at its lowest after bestowing a lot of heat and ego earlier from Aries through Leo.
This transit is a self-reflection time for Sun and hence for all of us. In Libra, he starts to realize how much heat he has showered to earth. In Libra, the Sun becomes duty conscious- just and equal. It brings prosperity all around creation. Nature adorns herself into beauty and elegance. This charm increases with festive seasons around all of us.
It has a beautiful message for us as well. Sun represents our Soul. As Sun reflects on its deeds every year, this is a perfect opportunity for us to reflect upon our deeds & Karma. It is an opportunity to shed our egos, let go of the vices and become equal & just. It's an opportunity to purify our body and the Soul. As Navaratri is beginning, many people will keep fast to purify/ detox our bodies. But what about our souls, actions, and deeds?
Let's understand the deeper meaning of what natures around us is doing and then accordingly time to change ourselves.
In a true sense, this is a time to reflect within!
Happy reading!!
